UCI Bottle-Filling Stations

UCI’s Bottle Filling Stations are making waves all around campus! In 2014, UCI’s 162 Bottle Filling Stations helped avoid the use of over 2.3 million plastic bottles equal to 65 tons of plastic. Avoiding the use of plastic bottles also saves water and petroleum that is used in the manufacturing of these bottles. On average, students, faculty and staff fill their reusable water bottle 6.3 times per month. In one year, 298,355 gallons of refreshing filtered water were dispensed from these stations.

UCI is also proud to welcome two new Bottle Filling Stations to Aldrich Park. These stations come equipped with two drinking fountains, as well as a water-wise anteater on the side! You can find the most recently installed station beside Commencement Lawn. Facilities management is working on installing the next bottle filling station in a high traffic area of the park, so be on the lookout for this new addition to our campus!
