Cardboard

How to Dispose.

Carboard is a recyclable item and can be placed in any blue commingled recycling bin once it is flattened. On campus housing provides larger waste toters (a landfill and a recycling) outside of, or next to, the housing facilities in which students can dispose of their trash including larger materials such as cardboard.

There are also large recycling toters outside of campus buildings to provide the same accommodations. In addition there is also a carboard corral located at the loading dock of each campus building specifically for cardboard recycling, and they are also blue.

Many living complexes outside of campus also provide large recycling toters for residents. There are many waste facilities that allow "drop-offs" of materials such as cardboard. These facilities specify in recycling or repurposing specific waste items to avoid their disposal into landfills.

What happens next.

Recycled cardboard always has to be clean and dry in order for it to be properly processed. After being taken to recycling facilities, cardboard can then be repurposed to become new, recycled material, such as new boxes.

This is why proper disposal is so important. It allows for certain material, that would other wise be wasted, to become a reusable resource.
