There are man household hazardous waste drop-off locations that can take your hazardhous waste as well as collect it for you on certain days.

What happens next.
Some hazardous waste can be cleaned and reused to produce a similar product from which it came. Certain hazardous waste can also be blended or fused with other material to produce fuel. Other hazardous wastes can also be used as an ingredient of certain fertilizers.
This is why proper disposal is so important because it allows for certain materials, that would otherwise be wasted, to become reusable resources.
